The Giver of New Life

Jesus dying on the cross paid the debt for our sins. Three days after His death He rose from the dead by the power of God and showed Himself to many. In raising from the dead Jesus defeated Death once and for all…not just for Himself, but for you as well, so that you might have new life.

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit…” 1 Peter 3:18

“‘Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?’…thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:55-56

The promise that God has made with you in His Word, is that if you would come to Jesus, confessing your sin to Him, recognizing your debt to God cannot be repaid on your own, but being convinced that it is Jesus’ sacrifice on that cross alone that can save you, and His resurrection that gives you life, then you shall indeed have eternal life as God has said :

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36

The eternal life that God offers us is for both this life and the next.

Eternal life begins the moment you decide to make Jesus your Lord and Savior. It is at this moment when you are reconciled to God as a father is reconciled to a lost son or daughter. It is in this moment that you begin an intimate, personal, real relationship with your Heavenly Father. It is in this moment that He will fill you with His Holy Spirit, to guide you and help you all the days of your life.

Eternal life after your time on this earth is over, means you have an eternal home awaiting you in heaven with God. There is no more fear of judgement for you once your life ends, for with Christ you have been cleared of all guilt and forgiven of all sin. God has said in heaven there will be no more tears, no more hurting, only the beautiful peace and joy that comes with being in His very presence forever and ever.
